On Monday 29th June 150 enthusiasts turned out for the inaugural charity cricket day at the Honourable Artillery Company in the City hosted by Future Capital Partners and Aramid Capital.
Our main charity, Capital Kids Cricket, which brings cricket to the children in London's inner city schools - teaching them the skills of the game, the benefits of a team sport and helping to keep them off the streets, was in the spotlight for the day as keen amateur cricketers from 6 hedge funds batted it out along side some of England's ex-international players, for the honour of best Alternative Investment cricket team in the industry.
Clearly not distracted by the Fullers beer, Pimms and wine served at the event, nor starstruck at the chance of winning net sessions with cricketers Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff and Shane Warne in the charity auction, the Aramid team, The Aramid All Stars, overcame FRM Hedge in the final to claim the title.
The day was a huge success raising £16,000 in total.
